👤Account & Sign-In
How do I create an account?
Open RUACH and sign up with your email, or use Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. A free account lets you save progress across devices.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" and follow the email instructions. If you signed in with Google or Apple, just use that same method to sign back in — there's no separate password.
Can I use RUACH without an account?
You can read the Bible and explore freely as a guest. An account is required for prayer posts, community features, saving bookmarks across devices, and AI features.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings and choose the account deletion option, or email us at ruachbibleapp@gmail.com and we'll permanently remove your account and associated data.
My progress didn't sync to my other device.
Make sure you're signed in with the same account on both devices. Bookmarks, notes, streaks, and study progress sync automatically when signed in.
💳Subscriptions & Billing
What does Premium cost?
RUACH Premium is $4.99/month or $29.99/year. The annual plan saves you about 50% compared to monthly.
How do I restore my subscription?
Open the subscription screen in RUACH and tap "Restore Purchases." Be sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you originally subscribed with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → RUACH → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the billing period.
Do subscriptions auto-renew?
Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in your Apple subscription settings.
I have a promo code — where do I enter it?
On the subscription screen, tap "Have a promo code?" and enter it. Valid codes unlock Premium access instantly.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request a refund.

Which Bible translations are included?
RUACH includes the King James Version (KJV) and the Bible in Basic English (BBE), both fully available offline.
Can I read offline?
Yes. The full Bible text is stored on your device, so you can read without an internet connection. AI and community features require internet.
How do I bookmark a verse or add a note?
Tap a verse to open options for bookmarking, highlighting, and adding a personal note. Your bookmarks and notes sync to your account.
What is the original Hebrew/Greek text feature?
As you read certain passages, the original Hebrew (Old Testament) or Greek (New Testament) text is revealed, helping you connect with Scripture in its original language.
Can the app read the Bible aloud?
Yes. RUACH includes an audio reading feature that reads verses aloud using your device's built-in voice.
Who wrote each book?
Each book shows its traditional author with a short profile and portrait. Books with debated or unknown authorship are labeled accordingly.

How do I search the Bible?
Open the Search tab and type any word, phrase, or reference. RUACH instantly searches all 31,000+ verses.
Can I search by verse reference?
Yes. Enter something like "John 3:16" to jump directly to a passage, or search keywords to find every verse containing them.

What's in the Library tab?
The Library is your hub for saved content, Biblical Journey Maps, and additional study resources.
What are Biblical Journey Maps?
Journey Maps let you follow 34 biblical figures — like Jesus, Paul, and Moses — across 248 historical locations, in the order events happened. See where they were born, traveled, and where their stories concluded.
Where are my bookmarked verses?
Your saved verses and notes are accessible from the Library and your Profile, synced to your account.
✍️Study
What is the Bible Study plan?
RUACH builds a personalized 12-month Bible study based on a short survey about your life, faith background, and goals. Each day includes a passage, context, reflection, and a journaling prompt.
Is the Study feature free?
A preview is available to everyone. The full personalized 12-month study plan is part of RUACH Premium.
Can I change my study profile later?
Yes. Tap "Adjust My Study Profile" anytime. You'll choose whether to keep all your existing progress (applying new preferences only to future months) or start fresh. Your completed days and notes are never lost unless you choose to start over.
How does the plan unlock?
Your plan is delivered one month (30 days) at a time, so each new month stays fresh and tailored to you.
What is the SOAP journal?
SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer — a structured journaling method built into each study day to help you reflect and apply what you read.
⭐Profile
How do I set a profile or banner photo?
Go to your Profile and tap your photo or banner to upload an image from your library.
What are reading streaks and awards?
RUACH tracks your daily reading streak and awards milestones for reading, prayer, encouragement, community participation, and Scripture quizzes.
Can I change the app's appearance?
Yes. In Profile → Settings you can choose accent themes (Slate Blue, Gold, Terracotta, Cream) and the app follows your device's light/dark mode.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
In Profile → Settings you can toggle notifications for prayers, discussions, profile posts, and daily reminders individually.
How do I enable Offline Mode?
In Profile → Settings, toggle Offline Mode to use RUACH without network features. The Bible remains fully readable offline.
What is the Community tab?
Community is where you discover local churches, see Trending Verses the community is reading, and connect with other believers.
What are Trending Verses?
Trending Verses shows which passages the RUACH community is reading and bookmarking most right now.
Why does it ask for my location?
Location is only used — with your permission — to help you find churches near you. You can decline and still use the rest of the app.
🙏Prayer
How do I post a prayer request?
Open the Prayer tab and share your request. You can post publicly under your name or anonymously for privacy.
What is the Verse of the Day?
A new verse appears each day at the top of the Prayer tab. Tap it to jump straight to that passage in the Read tab.
What does it mean to "pray" for a request?
Tapping to pray lets the poster know someone is lifting them up, and helps build an encouraging community around each request.
Can I delete a prayer I posted?
Yes. Open your prayer request and choose delete. You're always in control of your own posts.
💬Discussions
What are Discussions?
Discussions are community conversations about faith, Scripture, and life. You can post, comment, and upvote contributions.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Tap the options menu on any post or comment and choose Report. Our team reviews reports and removes content that violates our guidelines.
How do I block someone?
Open the user's profile or post options and choose Block. You won't see their content, and they won't see yours.
👥Prayer Groups
How do I create a prayer group?
In the Groups tab, create a new group. You'll get a unique invite code to share with people you want to include.
How do I join a group?
Enter the invite code shared by the group's creator. Only people with the code can see and join your private group.
Who can see what's posted in a group?
Only members of that group. Prayer groups are private spaces just for the people you invite.
⛪Churches & Giving
How do I find a church?
In the Community tab, browse or search for churches. You can view their profile, events, and live services.
How does giving work?
Church donations are processed securely through Stripe and go directly to the church as charitable giving. RUACH does not take a cut of donations.
How does my church get verified?
Churches can create a profile in the app and submit their EIN for verification. Our team reviews submissions, typically within 48 hours, before donations are enabled.
Can I watch services live?
Yes. Churches that offer live streams can be watched directly within their RUACH profile.
🤖AI Features
What AI features does RUACH have?
Three AI features powered by Claude: Historical Info (background on when and why a book was written), Modern Context (how a passage applies today), and Bible Chat (ask questions about what you're reading).
How many AI uses do I get?
Free users get 5 AI uses to try the features. Premium members get generous daily access — up to 15 Bible Chat messages, 10 Historical Context, and 10 Modern Context lookups per day.
Do AI features work offline?
No. AI features require an internet connection because they're powered by a secure cloud service.
Is the AI a replacement for pastoral guidance?
No. AI insights are for reflection and study only. They are not official theological teaching — always verify with Scripture and trusted pastoral guidance.

How is my data protected?

Why does RUACH ask for contacts access?
Only to help you find friends who are also on RUACH, and only with your permission. You can decline and still use the app fully.
Can I post anonymously?
Yes. Prayer requests can be posted anonymously so you can share freely while protecting your privacy.
